Remote Phosphor

ID LED utilizes Philips® Fortimo™ LED DLM (Downlight module)

Fortimo™’s patented remote phosphor technology creates high quality white light in a fully enclosed metal module with a glass phosphor lens. Through a collaborative effort with Philips®, Focal Point is proud to offer a new 1300 lumen Fortimo™ DLM as a direct replacement to 32w compact fluorescent.


How it works

1 High efficiency blue LEDs emit blue light into the mixing chamber

2 High reflectance mixing chamber directs light through glass phosphor disc

3 Phosphor disc creates white light in 3000k, 3500k or 4000k


• The remote phosphor approach creates a uniform surface appearance with no visible LEDs

• Color consistency of 5SDCM (Standard Deviation of Color Matching) and a CRI of 80+ for all color temperatures

• 1100 or 1300 lumen modules available



  • The mixing chamber increases efficiency compared to phosphor coated LED arrays, creating energy savings without sacrificing light output.

Complete System

The Fortimo™ system consists of the Fortimo™ DLM LED module, an intelligent Xitanium® driver, and the communication cable between them, all supplied by Philips®.

• Intelligent driver delivers specified lumen output regardless of color temperature (1100: 16-18w) (1300: 21-23.5w)

• 0-10v dimming to 10% light output with no flicker or color shift

• Embedded intelligence and communication from DLM to driver simplifies upgrades and replacements

• Thermal guard offers protection from overheating in abnormal conditions, driver will dim DLM if necessary

• The LED system is rated at 50,000 hours to 70% light output, lasting four times an equivalent output compact fluorescent lamp


  • Constant current driver senses performance attributes of LED module and adjusts delivered current accordingly.
