The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System is the tool developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) to promote green building design. LEED is a performance-oriented system where credits are earned for satisfying criteria designed to address specific environmental impacts in the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings. Levels of certification are awarded based on the total number of points obtained. While there are no LEED rated products’, utilizing Focal Point on a project can contribute to the total points earned and maximize the LEED rating achieved.
Appropriately designed lighting, along with controls, can assist with up to 12 points in LEED NC v2.2:

• EA Credit 1, Optimize Energy Performance | 1-10 points |
• EQ Credit 6.1, Controllability of Systems | 1 point |
While not specifically contributing, Lighting is also in integral part of:
• EA Credit 5, Measurement and Verification | 1 point |
• EQ Credits 8.1 and 8.2, Daylight & Views | up to 2 points |
We have a LEED accredited professional on staff to assist you in this process.
